World War 1

Serbia in World War One

The Serbia campaign started in late July in the year 1914 with the invasion of Austria-Hungary.

It is estimated the Serbians suffered in the region of 27% of their entire population of the country during the campaign of the First World War.

The Bosnian crisis started in 1908 to 1909 and also known as the First Balkan crisis as Austria-Hungary announce the acquisition of Bosnia and Herzegivina.

Many suggest the start of the was due to the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, in Sarajevo on 28 June 1914.
