World War 1

The German Zeppelin

The Zeppelin was designed in the early 20th century, the early design of the airship was put together in 1874 and finally patented in the United States in 1899.

The Airship was generally used for bombing raids and scouting missions in world war one although the  first  Airship used commercially in 1910.

The idea of the Zeppelin came from Count Ferdinand von Zepplin when he noticed the French use Hot Air Balloons to deliver mail during the early part of the  Franco-Prussian War in 1870 as well as the American using Balloons in 1863 during the American Civil War.

We will be designing this website as a mark of respect to the brave servicemen and women who bravely fought for                                            our freedom in the First World War and  Second World War.

Any funds raised from this website will go to a War related Charity.
